Re: Dragon Timers software

No problem. My wife wants me to add a capture line for chat. In essence; #3@12m, #5@6m, #12@2m. So she can copy and paste the string into chat when asked about timers. I assume all the heroic encounters in the game run on a 20 minute cycle.

Re: Germany Might Ban Lootboxes in March

Here "might be" a way to side step the issue but make both sides happy. Simply remove all loot boxes from dropping, instead if they sold a key that opened the chest at the end of the dungeon with a guaranteed reward and random miscellaneous other items. I got this idea watching my wife playing in th...

Re: Race Re-Roll to the Same Race

I don't know much about the artwork or the differences from Mod 2 to Mod 4, I can tell you where the files are kept, and how much or how little you can do to make your version visually appealing. All the 3D models and textures are stored on your hard drive. Look for a piggs folder, inside you will f...

Re: Expedition Leader Pack Valuation

Its a zen pack... Thanks, my wife informed me it is $75 on sale and $100 off sale. Thank God she doesn't actually buy crap like that. I know my wife is sitting on a bunch of AD. She plans to go on a shopping spree when they introduce the next loot box. She buys up the "junk" tossed out by the playe...

Re: Expedition Leader Pack Valuation

I am unclear on this; This pack is sold for Zen or random drop from lock box? Assuming non of it is BoP, most of those items should appear in the AH a few weeks after the release. Whales will buy/get this pack and sell whatever they don't want to offset the sale. If AD is still trading at 500 per ze...

MinMax Fortytwo is 100% on the nose. Las Vegas has casinos. Here in Michigan we have casinos, but if I go to the local bar and start a poker game with my friends, I will be thrown out or arrested. Gambling in some states is 100% illegal and laws vary state to state. I am not saying people don't have...

Re: Germany Might Ban Lootboxes in March

ALL these video games in general target the under aged teenager who cannot and should not be gambling or in a casino. The advocates who impose these restrictions are lucky I am not the executive in charge of making changes to these games. Pushing me in the business world, I tend to push back, I been...

Dragon Timers software

This link will allow you to download a small clock or timer program from Google Drive. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JuHQb1GUBEVxBvEefQx8h4AXhitLJdui/view?usp=sharing I will just cut and paste my readme file to explain it. Name: Dragon Timers 1.0 ======================= This is a simple utility I...

Re: Germany Might Ban Lootboxes in March

1. A person/company can argue whatever they want. As long as the item is unknown, it is gambling. If I sold lottery tickets for a $1 and every lottery ticket wins $1, 5, or 10 there would be no point to selling tickets. Countries have controlled and manipulated video games all over the world. For ex...

Sugar you sound very thin skinned, also you are calling guys out when you are not sure who or what Merciless is in fact. I am a guy who doesn't play this game, my wife plays (too much in my opinion) she not only tells people her REAL name but gladly shares her Facebook. I don't see any issues she ha...

Re: How to extract background music from the game file?

I currently have the extractor for the compressed hogg files. It is called Gibbed File Format Unpacker and is no big secret. The problem you will run into using this or any other extraction of Neverwinter audio is; They use a proprietary format of FMOD audio files. I don't think much about the music...

Re: Germany Might Ban Lootboxes in March

There is no "loop hole" in this, once it is deemed gambling (which it is), the games that don't wish to be blocked or restricted in the market will need to remove loot boxes. To clarify what I am saying here; This is NOT about value. I am buying a box with unknown item inside. It doesn't matter the ...

I haven't tested it, but I believe you can edit the saved text keybind file as such; f2 "mail" "" or N "invoke" "" or 4 "" "" The last line is to unbind 4 altogether. To be honest, I only test play the game anymore for the Linux development under WINE. As it stands we are getting fairly close with v...

Re: Turning off shadows fixed crashes for me

As you would guess from my user ID, I run mostly Linux, I have a smaller Windows drive inside this machine. It keeps the hogwash where it belongs. The Linux OS operates without much in need of maintenance or updates. My Linux hasn't crashed or had any "real" issues in several years. The last issue I...

Re: Maze Engine "Gear"

I really haven't got as far as the Maze Engine to see the gear visually but yes they basically just juggle the stats on all the new gear and never make it much better than the last set. For example; if you look at the wiki, in most cases the armor will have a table with the "total stats" at the far ...

LOL it is dumb how many male names are slang for the penis. Johnson, Peter, and Dick are only a few. The company has also blocked "ss" and "55" I am told it is to keep Europeans from getting upset about the Nazis. I thought we got over the Nazis by winning WW2... or did we? I forget the actual conte...

Re: Forbidden Names or Words

I have a perfect solution for "bad names" in online gaming. Back in 2009, I worked on a project and was in charge of a chat engine. I suggested a simple text file could be scanned for words that offended the user. When employed by the system it was able to quickly scan +10,000 words and omit them up...

Forbidden Names or Words

Yesterday a friend called me asking about using the word "Duchess" in a guild ranking. The game would not allow it no matter how much he tried. His ranks are aristocratic base, he explained to me one rank is called "Baron or Baroness" and when he got to "Duke or Duchess" it refused to work. I gave h...

Re: ReShade and Neverwinter

I would take care using programs such as this. Basically this "hooks" the DirectX DLLs and redirects the image values through a color enhancement program. In principle there is nothing wrong with it. But here are some other factors that you should consider; DirectX also controls the keyboard and mou...

Update on the whole EA - Battlefront - Lootbox matter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5ztiJ6Zcck While I haven't and don't play Battlefront 2 Online, I do understand, from seeing online reviews, what has the players ranting. However I would like to take a moment and point out this "YongYea" video...
