Re: Linux OS users

First I got to say, I love the "Blame the Bots" signature. I have to agree, the lack of content in this game makes one wonder why it is still up and running. However I recall reading an article on the psychology behind the common MMO. Players will continue to play, no matter how bad, because they gr...

Re: Ostorian Relic Gear from Seals of the Protector

My suggestion on these seals has been to restore the boots and salvage the boots. 200 seals for the boots, 75 for the resin, 15x5 = 75 seals for the lanolin making a total of 350 seals for restored boots. These fetch 5,000 RAD from salvage and should you invoke 7,500 in total. Otherwise there are ot...

Linux OS users

If you or someone you know in the past quit playing Neverwinter because of last year's Direct X upgrade. Time to tell your friends to download 2.15 or higher version of WINE. While the game runs and hasn't crashed, the discard Z shader still needs some work. What this means to you as a player; your ...

Re: Lootboxes are gambling

I was talking to a person I work with, we were discussing how many online games are based/owned by China and Korea. He jokingly said, "I am surprised that one (Neverwinter) makes any money at all. Maybe they are a huge money laundry operation.".

I did not laugh.

Re: Lootboxes are gambling

I read somewhere, a player described lootboxes (lockboxes) as free lottery tickets, they make you pay $1 for the penny to scratch it off. Most gaming companies are using a few "technical loop holes" as a method to avoid being designated as gambling. First I don't agree with the methods they incorpor...

Re: This new RP event is just a scam

I have been too busy debugging to take notice. I would call it a delusion, rather than a scam. Scam would indicate some kind of fraud or hoax. This is not, since it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. Now an RP scam is the AH prices on gems. Unless I am wrong, there is no other purpose for g...

Re: Perma Banned from Arc Forums

Does the perma-ban from the forum carry over to the game or can you still play? I only made 1 post since joining 5/25/2015. It wasn't very controversial and more or less just a technical observation. If I had invested cash money into playing the game, that would have been a different story. My room ...

Re: Today's Patch

To understand "file patching" imagine the file as a page in a book with text written to it. Instead of adding a new page, the page is over written with new "corrections". These corrections could make the page longer or shorter due to what has been written. Knowing how sloppy Cryptic has rewritten th...
